At the age of 6 1/2 years, Lontano sustained a hind leg injury whilst show jumping which ended his ridden career. Until then, he had accomplished many awards under saddle. Lonatno had demonstrated his jumping ability at the AWHA Gala Day jumping a course up to 1 meter 45 centimetres. Lontano had also competed & won at Elementary Dressage & was training Medium.

Lontano continued his Led Career until 2002 where he has gained many Champion of Champions "SUPREME LED EXHIBIT OF ALL BREEDS'" at many shows including 'AUSTRALIAN GRAND CHAMPION' Led Exhibit of All Breeds held in NSW.

Lontano is now retired form the Show Ring where his progeny are now following on in his footsteps both Led & under saddle.
