Born in 1979. Started riding in her twenties, buying a ex-rachorse for trail riding, which led her interests into Pony Club and Riding Club. Alsion found the Warmblood horses to be everything she desired and bought 'Luminous' who is by Lontano from Sarah Hocking. THis pair have won many Associate Dressage competitions to Novice Dressage. In 2013 Alison and Luminous won AWHA Encourage Dressage Horse of the Year.
Alison is a keen member of the Ponderosa Stud team and a great freind of Rob and Cheryl Hatswell, who enjoy her company and that of her partner Vince.
Started riding later in life and joined Enfield Heights Pony Club where she piloted, an Anglo-Arab known as ‘Macauley’ to become three times winner metropolitan Horse of the Year and twice Winner State Pony Club Horse of the Year. Eventing being a passion, ‘Macauley’ competed three times at Naracoorte Junior 3 Day Event (Intermediate Level) as well as winning in Dressage & Hacking. In her senior days, Cheryl bought a thoroughbred, not long off of the track to compete three times in the prestigious Gawler Three Day event, and become a member of the State Dressage Squad. Cheryl has gone on to become qualified as EFA Level 1 instructor (non-practicing), qualified and registered Artificial Insemination Technician through Melbourne University and the Department of South Australia & has completed her training as AWHA Mare Classifier as well as a Bowen & Emtech Practitioner.
Cheryl riding Ponderosa Stud Lucious has made the ESA Development Squad for 2015 competing at Advanced & PSG with their sights set for Inter 1 at the end of the year.
Rob’s philosophy was, if you can’t beat them, you had better join them, so Rob learnt to handle and ride horses when he met and latter married Cheryl. Rob went onto compete on ‘Macauley’ and placed in Level 2 Eventing. Rob has also completed the Artificial Insemination Course at Melbourne University and has become obsessed with the feeding requirements of the Equine Athlete and Breeding Horse. To satisfy his passion, Rob has become a manufacturer of a wide variety of Horse Pellets for the pleasure pony to the FEI level horse through to Breeding Stock. Pellets are really the best way to make sure the horse gets all the nutrients required to ensure peak performance.
A boutique Pellet Manufacturer, Rob is able to produce the best feed for the South Australian horse lacking in the vitamins and minerals in the area, as well as custom formulations required by some studs and race horses.
